Established in 1953, the University of Forestry is one of the most famous Bulgarian institutions for higher education in the fields of Forestry, Earth Sciences, Engineering, Veterinary Medicine, Plant Breeding and Protection, Tourism, Management and Administration. With 9,00 rating, the university is professionally accredited and issues internationally recognized diplomas. Moreover, the institution is known as one that follows a strong policy to provide world class education, valuable trainings and internships at farms throughout the whole country.
The University is divided into 6 faculties – Faculty of Forestry, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Faculty of Agronomy, Faculty of Forest Industry, Faculty of Ecology and Landscape Architecture and Faculty of Business Management. Part of the institution are its 3 clinics, a botanical garden, sports and training centers as well as high tech lecture halls and laboratories. The University of Forestry is the only university in Sofia that offers Veterinary Medicine in English. The programme consists of lectures, seminars and a practical internship.
