The oldest technical higher school in Bulgaria was established in 1942. A few years later, in 1995 by decision of the National Assembly VIAS it was transformed into the University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy (UACEG). Ever since then, the institution has been providing leading higher education in the fields of Architecture and other technical studies. Rich in traditions and historical heritage, the univeristy is an autonomous academic institution that encourages democracy, professional development and international bonding. ‘The main objectives of UACEG are: to provide high-quality higher education in Architecture and Civil Engineering; to offer a rich choice of postgraduate educational qualifications; to realise thorough scientific research and effective co-operation with national and international public and private institutions‘.

We won’t exaggerate if we say that there are countless reasons to choose Sofia for your studies. Intercultural, bustling and enchanting, the capital of Bulgaria has a lot to offer – historical spots, cultural events, captivating mountains, upscale restaurants, bars and many more. It truly is a city where everyone can find himself and feel good. For example, one can find four houses of worship for different religions positioned very close to each other. The Saint Nedelya Orthodox church, the Saint Joseph Catholic Cathedral, the Sofia Synagogue and the Banya Bashi Mosque assemble the so-called Square of Religious Tolerance, which is another confirmation that Sofia welcomes all nations and races in its multicultural embrace.
