In response to the progressively growing need of specialists in the field of economics, in 1920 the University of Economics – Varna (UE-Varna) opened its doors. Initally named Higher School of Commerce, the institution was the first in Bulgria and on the Balkans to offer education in the areas of Economics, Management, Tourism and Social Sciences. Over the years, the fully accredited university has trained more than 150 000 professionals.

UE-Varna plays a key role in the development of the education and research in the field of economics in Bulgaria. Divided into 5 major branches – Faculty of Finance and Accounting, Faculty of Economics, Faculty of Information Technologies, Faculty of Management and College of Toursim, UE is training specialists while executing various international projects. Furthermore, the university focuses on establishing steady strategic partnerships with other higher schools around the world. At present, it is collaborating with more than 250 universities, thus providing numerous opportunities for the students to participate in exchanges and international projects.

Students may choose between undergraduate and post-graduate programmes taught in English, Bulgarian and Russian. Below is a list of the English majors.
